Regular Season Round 6: Fribourg - Landes 70-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th ranked Swiss Fribourg's (0-6) home loss to third ranked French Basket Landes (3-3) 70-85 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Basket Landes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Fribourg's 40. Basket Landes looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Mamignan Toure (183-94) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Celine Dumerc (169-82) chipped in 7 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Basket Landes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Samantha Ostarello (188-91, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Belgian point guard Noemie Mayombo (170-91, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basket Landes moved-up to second place in Group J, which they share with Sint Katelijne. Defending Swiss champion Fribourg still closes the standings with six games lost.
