Regular Season Round 10: Cedevita - Tofas 92-96

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Croatian Cedevita (5-5) against fifth ranked Turkish Tofas (4-6) on Tuesday night. Host Cedevita was defeated by Tofas in a tough game in Zagreb 92-96. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cedevita won third quarter 34-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tofas won last quarter 23-21. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) notched 20 points to lead the effort and the other American import guard Sammy Mejia (199-83, college: De Paul) supported him with 12 points and 8 assists. Even 32 points and 9 rebounds by American Elgin Cook (197-93, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Cedevita. Georgian-American point guard Jacob Pullen (184-89, college: Kansas St.) added 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. Five Tofas and four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tofas moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Defending Croatian champion Cedevita keeps the third position with five games lost.
