Regular Season Round 1: Venezia - Partizan NIS 63-66
Date: October 1, 2019
An interesting game was also home loss of Italian Umana Venezia in a game versus undefeated Serbian Partizan NIS 66-63. Umana Venezia was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-11. But Umana Venezia won second period 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Rashawn Thomas (203-94, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Wasserman) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and guard Ognjen Jaramaz (193-95, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Partizan NIS players scored in double figures. Greek-American swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Austin Daye (211-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Alti Sport) added 9 points respectively for Umana Venezia in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Partizan NIS will meet at home Tofas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Umana Venezia will play against Lokomotiv in Krasnodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
