Regular Season Round 1: Monaco - Andorra 82-66

Monaco used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Andorra 82-66 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Andorra was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Andorra's 24. It was a very good performance for American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St.) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward J.J. O'Brien (200-92, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. Senegalese-Spanish center Moussa Diagne (211-94, agency: Interperformances) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian-Serbian Dejan Todorovic (197-94) added 14 points in the effort for Andorra. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco will face Promitheas (#3) in Patras in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Andorra will play at home against ratiopharm Ulm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
