Regular Season Round 1: Brescia - Unics 84-75

Brescia used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kazan 84-75 on Wednesday night. Unics Kazan trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-84 at the end of the game. Brescia dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Unics Kazan's 22. It was a very good performance for point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 22 points and the other American import guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) added 16 points in the effort for Unics Kazan. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brescia will face Joventut (#5) in Badalona in the next round. Unics Kazan will play at home against Cedevita Olimpija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
