Regular Season Round 2: Partizan NIS - Tofas 93-80

The most important game of round 2 took place in Beograd of Group B where Serbian Partizan NIS beat Turkish Tofas (1-1) 93-80 on Tuesday night. Tofas were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Partizan NIS looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Swingman Rade Zagorac (204-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Partizan NIS's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British-American guard Tarik Phillip (190-93, college: WVU, agency: Two Points) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Devin Williams (206-94, college: WVU) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tofas will play next round against Umana Venezia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Partizan NIS will try to continue on its current victory against Rytas in Vilnius.
