Regular Season Round 3: Trento - EWE Baskets 91-81

Not a big story in a game when German EWE Baskets (0-3) were defeated on the road by Italian Trento (2-1) 91-81 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-81. Trento dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to EWE Baskets' 36. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: UNC, agency: Two Points) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Alessandro Gentile (200-92) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Trento players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Nathan Boothe (206-94, college: Toledo) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Trento will face Asseco Arka (#3) in Gdynia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. EWE Baskets will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and look forward to get finally their first victory.
