Regular Season Round 1: UNI Gyor - Olivais 76-62

UNI Gyor used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Coimbra 76-62 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-62. UNI Gyor looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Olivais' players. Quite impressive performance for Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Klaudia Papp (168-95) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five UNI Gyor players scored in double figures. Serbian center Ana Radovic (191-90) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian forward Latinka Dusanic (180-90) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Olivais. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. UNI Gyor will face Gernika (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Olivais will play against Perfumerias Avenida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
