Regular Season Round 2: Gernika - UNI Gyor 77-41

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Hungarian UNI Gyor (1-1) was rolled over on the road by Spanish Gernika (1-1) 77-41 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Gernika led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UNI Gyor to just 7 points in third quarter. Gernika forced 20 UNI Gyor turnovers. Serbian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) scored 27 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Blake Dietrick (178-93, college: Princeton, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-95) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Spanish point guard Sandra Ygueravide (172-84) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gernika will face Olivais (#4) in Coimbra in the next round. UNI Gyor will play on the road against Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
