Regular Season Round 4: KP Brno - Gorzow Wlkp. 71-67

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Czech KP Brno (1-3) beat at home much higher ranked Polish AZS Gorzow (2-2) 71-67 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 23-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. KP Brno forced 19 AZS Gorzow turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Gabby Green (188-95, college: Loyola Mary, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Michaela Stara (175-90) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. KP Brno's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Lithuanian forward Laura Juskaite (186-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kahleah Copper (186-94, college: Rutgers) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for AZS Gorzow. Four AZS Gorzow players scored in double figures. KP Brno maintains fourth position in Group A with 1-3 record. Loser AZS Gorzow keeps the second place with two games lost. KP Brno will face league's leader Botas in Adana in the next round and it may be the game of the week. AZS Gorzow will play at home against the league's second-placed Ramla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
