Eurocup
Regular Season Round 7: Nanterre - Darussafaka 68-82
Date: November 12, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked French JSF Nanterre (2-5) lost at home to third ranked Turkish Darussafaka (4-3) 82-68 on Tuesday. JSF Nanterre was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a very good performance for Trinidad and Tobago center Johnny Hamilton (213-94, college: UT Arlington) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Kartal Ozmizrak (189-95, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) answered with 18 points and American swingman Spencer Butterfield (191-92, college: Utah St.) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for JSF Nanterre. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Joventut and Brescia. JSF Nanterre lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Darussafaka will face Joventut (#3) in Badalona in the next round, which may be the game of the day. JSF Nanterre will play on the road against the league's leader Unics Kazan and hope to win that game.
