Regular Season Round 7: Rytas - Limoges 92-78

Everything could happen in Vilnius at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Lithuanian Rytas and 4th placed French Limoges CSP Elite had identical 2-4 record. This time Rytas used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Limoges 92-78 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Rytas. Limoges CSP Elite was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists. Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Semaj Christon (190-92, college: Xavier) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists and the other American import guard Vincent Sanford (193-90, college: Dayton, agency: Inception Sports) added 20 points in the effort for Limoges CSP Elite. Five Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rytas (3-4) moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Loser Limoges CSP Elite dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Rytas will face league's second-placed Partizan NIS in Beograd in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limoges CSP Elite will play at home against Lokomotiv (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
