There was a small surprise in Ljubljana where sixth ranked Slovenian Cedevita Olimpija (3-5) beat 4th ranked Italian Brescia (4-4) 73-62 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-62. Cedevita Olimpija dominated on the defensive end, holding Brescia to just 6 points in second quarter. Cedevita Olimpija forced 19 Brescia turnovers. Brescia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Armenian-American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 assists and American guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (193-94, college: Wake Forest) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Awudu Abass (199-93, agency: Players Group) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Kenneth Horton (201-89, college: CCSU) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brescia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cedevita Olimpija have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Nanterre. Loser Brescia dropped to the third position with four games lost. Cedevita Olimpija will face JSF Nanterre (#5) on the road in the next round. Brescia will play against the league's second-placed Darussafaka in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
