Regular Season Round 8: Monaco - Rishon 77-75

Fifth-ranked Israeli Rishon (1-7) gave a tough game to fourth ranked French Monaco (5-3) on Wednesday. Monaco managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. Rishon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Paul Lacombe (190-90, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) who added 18 points during the contest. American forward Johnathan Williams-III (206-95, college: Gonzaga, agency: Wasserman) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Monaco moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Andorra. Rishon lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Monaco will face ratiopharm Ulm (#5) on the road in the next round. Rishon will play against Andorra and hope to win that game.
