Regular Season Round 5: CCC Polkowice - OGM Orman 75-55
Date: November 27, 2019
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when leader Turkish Ormanspor (4-1) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Polish CCC Polkowice (3-2) 75-55 on Wednesday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group C. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 20 points. CCC Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ormanspor's 32. CCC Polkowice forced 26 Ormanspor turnovers. American guard Danielle Robinson (178-89, college: Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and Romanian-French center Ana-Maria Filip (195-89, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Montenegrin-American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. CCC Polkowice have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Polish champion maintains second place in Group C with 3-2 record having just five point less than leader Spartak N., which they share with Kayseri. Loser Ormanspor still keeps top position with one game lost. CCC Polkowice will face A3 Basket (#4) in Umea in the next round. Ormanspor will play at home against Kayseri and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
