Regular Season Round 6: Gernika - Olivais 96-34

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Spanish Gernika (4-2) outleveled at home 4th ranked Portuguese Olivais (0-6) 96-34 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Gernika led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olivais to just 5 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Gernika held Olivais to an opponent 17.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Olivais 54-24 including a 40-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gernika looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Olivais' players. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Center Nogaye Lo-Sylla (192-96) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Ana Rodrigues (170-98) who recorded 11 points and swingman Marcy Goncalves (177-90) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Gernika maintains second position in Group F with 4-2 record having just seven point less than leader Spartak N., which they share with Roche. Defending Portuguese champion Olivais still closes the standings with six games lost.
