Regular Season Round 6: UNI Gyor - Avenida 35-67

There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Hungarian UNI Gyor (2-4) was crushed at home by top-ranked Spanish Perfumerias Avenida (6-0) 67-35 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Perfumerias Avenida led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UNI Gyor to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. The best player for the winners was American swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: UConn) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-95) who recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Agnes Torok (183-98) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida maintains first position in Group F with 6-0 record. Loser UNI Gyor keeps the third place with four games lost.
