Regular Season Round 9: Limoges - Venezia 71-78

Date: December 10, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked French Limoges CSP Elite (2-7) was defeated at home by first ranked Italian Umana Venezia (7-2) 78-71 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-71. The best player for the winners was American-Dominican forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Greek-American swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Umana Venezia's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) who recorded 16 points and 8 assists and American forward Brian Conklin (201-89, college: St.Louis) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Defending Italian champion maintains first place in Group B with 7-2 record. Loser Limoges CSP Elite stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Umana Venezia will face Rytas (#3) in Vilnius in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Limoges CSP Elite will play on the road against the league's second-placed Partizan NIS in Beograd and hope to win that game.
