Unics Kazan used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Istanbul 89-88 on Tuesday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Acibadem won fourth quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics Kazan shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 61.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. The other American import guard Isaiah Canaan (183-91, college: Murray St.) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Unics Kazan's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Mexican guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports) produced 33 points (!!!) and American guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Five Unics Kazan and four Acibadem players scored in double figures. Unics Kazan will face Partizan NiS in Beograd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Acibadem will play at home against Joventut and hope to win that game.
