Regular Season Round 3: Lietkabelis - Lokomotiv 76-105
Date: October 14, 2020
Rather expected game when Lithuanian Lietkabelis (0-3) were smashed by Russian Lokomotiv (2-1) in Panevezys 105-76 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiv. Lietkabelis was better in fourth quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 36-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lokomotiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American center Alan Williams (201-93, college: UCSB, agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Croatian center Marin Maric (211-94, college: DePaul, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 15 points and Puerto Rican-American guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: CCSU, agency: Network Sports International) added 7 points and 7 assists in the effort for Lietkabelis. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lokomotiv will face Andorra (#4) at home in the next round. Lietkabelis will play against Antwerp Giants and hope to get finally their first victory.
