Regular Season Round 3: Monaco - Antwerp 96-64
Date: October 14, 2020
Not a big story in a game when Belgian Antwerp Giants (0-3) were outscored on the road by French Monaco (3-0) 96-64 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Monaco led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Monaco outrebounded Antwerp Giants 36-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Antwerp Giants were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: MTSU, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: MSU) contributed with 14 points and 9 assists for the winners. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. Senegalese Ibrahima Fall-Faye (207-97) answered with 21 points and American guard Kenneth Smith (191-93, college: Louisiana Tech) added 15 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Antwerp Giants. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Monaco will face Virtus BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play on the road against Lietkabelis in Panevezys and hope to get finally their first victory.
