Regular Season Round 4: Unicaja - Brescia 86-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Spanish Unicaja Malaga as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Unicaja Malaga defeated 5th ranked Italian Brescia at home 86-69. The game was mostly controlled by Unicaja Malaga. Brescia was better in second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unicaja Malaga forced 19 Brescia turnovers. The winners were led by guard Dario Brizuela (187-94) who scored that evening 17 points and guard Francisco Alonso (193-96, college: UNCG) supported him with 15 points. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) did not help to save the game for Brescia. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) added 18 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Buducnost. Brescia at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Ulm. Brescia will play next round against strong Levallois trying to get back on the winning streak. Unicaja Malaga will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked ratiopharm Ulm on the road.
