Regular Season Round 4: Lietkabelis - Antwerp 80-73

Everything could happen in Panevezys at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Lithuanian Lietkabelis and bottom-ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants had identical 0-3 record. This time Lietkabelis used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Antwerp 80-73 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-73. Lietkabelis made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Antwerp Giants were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and guard Paulius Valinskas (191-95) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Lietkabelis' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Five Antwerp Giants players scored in double figures. Lietkabelis (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group C, which they share with Andorra. It was Antwerp Giants' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Lietkabelis will face Andorra (#5) on the road in the next round. Antwerp Giants will play against the league's leader Virtus BO and hope to get finally their first victory.
