Regular Season Round 4: Buducnost - Ulm 73-68

Rather predictable result in Podgorica where second ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (3-1) defeated bottom-ranked German ratiopharm Ulm (1-3) 73-68 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But ratiopharm Ulm won second period 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buducnost made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Buducnost outrebounded ratiopharm Ulm 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nikola Ivanovic (190-94, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and American power forward Willie Reed (211-90, college: St.Louis) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-German center Dylan Osetkowski (206-96, college: Texas) responded with 18 points and 6 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Per Guenther (184-88) scored 13 points. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Buducnost keeps a position of Group B leader, which they share with Unicaja. ratiopharm Ulm lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with three games lost. Buducnost will face Mornar Bar (#4) on the road in the next round. ratiopharm Ulm will play against the league's leader Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
