Regular Season Round 6: Levallois - Unicaja 90-80

Second defeat of league's leader Spanish Unicaja Malaga (4-2) against third ranked French Levallois (4-2) 90-80 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. Unicaja Malaga was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Levallois shot 65.3 percent from the field. Levallois outrebounded Unicaja Malaga 29-17 including a 23-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Levallois especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American swingman Anthony Brown (199-92, college: Stanford) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import point guard Brandon Brown (183-89, college: UMW) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Dario Brizuela (187-94) replied with 19 points and American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Unicaja Malaga. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Levallois keep a position of Group B leader. Unicaja Malaga will play next round against strong Mornar Bar trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Levallois will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Buducnost in Podgorica.
