Regular Season Round 6: Antwerp - Lokomotiv 94-114

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants (0-6) were smashed at home by second ranked Russian Lokomotiv (5-1) 114-94 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiv. Antwerp Giants was better in fourth quarter 32-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lokomotiv dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Antwerp Giants' 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Antwerp Giants were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Alan Williams (201-93, college: UCSB, agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds. The other American import guard Will Cummings (183-92, college: Temple) contributed with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Senegalese Ibrahima Fall-Faye (207-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward David Dudzinski (205-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Inception Sports) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Antwerp Giants. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lokomotiv have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group C with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Joventut. Loser Antwerp Giants still closes the standings with six games lost. Lokomotiv will face league's leader Virtus BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play on the road against Andorra (#4) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
