Regular Season Round 7: Cedevita Ol. - Bursaspor 104-88

Not a big story in a game in Ljubljana where bottom-ranked Turkish Bursaspor (0-6) was defeated by third ranked Slovenian Cedevita Olimpija (4-2) 104-88 on Monday. The game without a history. Cedevita Olimpija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Cedevita Olimpija looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Jaka Blazic (196-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: YSU) helped adding 15 points and 7 assists. Cedevita Olimpija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Xavier Munford (193-92, college: URI) responded with 25 points and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and guard Birkan Batuk (196-90) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Bursaspor players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cedevita Olimpija. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bursaspor lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Cedevita Olimpija will face Gran Canaria (#3) in Las Palmas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bursaspor will play on the road against JSF Nanterre and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
