Regular Season Round 7: Bursaspor - Cedevita Ol. 80-97

Rather predictable result when third ranked Slovenian Cedevita Olimpija (4-2) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Turkish Bursaspor (0-6) 97-80 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita Olimpija. Bursaspor was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bursaspor 34-21 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Jaka Blazic (196-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: YSU) helped adding 14 points and 9 assists. Cedevita Olimpija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Perry Jones-III (211-91, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 23 points and point guard Omer Ilyasoglu (193-1, agency: BeoBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 assists. Five Cedevita Olimpija and four Bursaspor players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cedevita Olimpija. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bursaspor lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Cedevita Olimpija will face Gran Canaria (#3) in Las Palmas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bursaspor will play on the road against JSF Nanterre and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
