The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked French JL Bourg's (3-2) home loss to second ranked Russian Unics Kazan (5-3) 74-86 on Thursday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Unics Kazan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Isaiah Canaan (183-91, college: Murray St.) who scored 23 points and 7 assists. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan maintains second position with 5-3 record having just one point less than leader Gran Canaria. Loser JL Bourg dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Unics Kazan will have a break next round. JL Bourg will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Unics Kazan (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
