Regular Season Round 9: Bourg - Venezia 87-59

Everything went according to plan when second ranked French JL Bourg (5-3) outplayed at home 5th ranked Italian Umana Venezia (2-6) 87-59 on Wednesday. The game without a history. JL Bourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. JL Bourg outrebounded Umana Venezia 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Serbian guard Danilo Andjusic (194-91) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 4 assists. Center Pierre Pelos (205-92) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five JL Bourg players scored in double figures. JL Bourg's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Julyan Stone (198-88, college: UTEP) answered with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Greek-American Michael Bramos (198-87, college: Miami, OH) added 13 points in the effort for Umana Venezia. Despite that victory JL Bourg went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Partizan NiS. Umana Venezia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. JL Bourg will face Partizan NiS (#4) in Beograd in the next round. Umana Venezia will play on the road against Acibadem in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
