Regular Season Round 9: Partizan NiS - Bahcesehir 88-75

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Turkish Acibadem (1-8) lost to fourth ranked Serbian Partizan NiS (5-3) in Beograd 75-88 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Partizan NiS. Acibadem was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Partizan NiS won last quarter 29-17. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Acibadem's 28. Acibadem was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (191-94, college: Wake Forest) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Rashawn Thomas (203-94, college: TAMUCC, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Partizan NiS players scored in double figures. American guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 25 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Belgian guard Thomas Akyazili (190-97, college: Colorado) added 10 points in the effort for Acibadem. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Partizan NiS have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bourg. Loser Acibadem keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Partizan NiS will face JL Bourg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Acibadem will play against Umana Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
