No shocking result in a game in Patras where second ranked Slovenian Cedevita Olimpija (7-3) outleveled 5th ranked Greek Promitheas (2-7) 105-69 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Cedevita Olimpija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Promitheas' 34. Cedevita Olimpija forced 21 Promitheas turnovers and outrebounded them 44-22 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cedevita Olimpija looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Jaka Blazic (196-90) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Four Cedevita Olimpija players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Eleftherios Mantzoukas (207-3) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and center Georgios Tanoulis (210-10) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cedevita Olimpija have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Unicaja and Levallois. Promitheas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Cedevita Olimpija will have a break next round. Promitheas will play at home against Bursaspor (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
