Regular Season Round 10: Trento - Gran Canaria 56-67

There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Italian Trento (6-4) was defeated at home by first ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (8-2) 67-56 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. Trento was better in third quarter 12-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trento 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Javier Beiran (200-87) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Polish-American AJ Slaughter (191-87, college: WKU, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: WVU) responded with 12 points and 5 assists and American center JaCorey Williams (203-94, college: MTSU) scored 9 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record, which they share with Lokomotiv. Trento lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with four games lost.
