Regular Season Round 10: Lietkabelis - Monaco 64-88

Rather expected game in Panevezys where 5th ranked Lithuanian Lietkabelis (2-8) were crushed by third ranked French Monaco (5-4) 88-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Lietkabelis was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 28. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 35-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Power forward Damien Inglis (204-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Nikola Rebic (187-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Paulius Valinskas (191-95) responded with 17 points and forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Lietkabelis' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending French champion maintains third position with 5-4 record having just two points less than leader Gran Canaria, which they share with Partizan NiS. Loser Lietkabelis keep the fifth place with eight games lost.
