Date: November 10, 2021
Everything could happen in Badalona at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Spanish Joventut and one of their biggest challengers Turkish Turk Telekom had identical 2-1 record. This time Joventut used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ankara 76-67 on Wednesday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But Turk Telekom won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joventut looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by forward Joel Parra (202-0) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) supported him with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Joventut's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by American JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. His fellow American import Aaron Harrison (198-94, college: Kentucky, agency: Network Sports International) added 17 points for lost side. Joventut (3-1) moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Andorra. Loser Turk Telekom dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Levallois and Lietkabelis. Joventut will meet at home league's second-placed Andorra in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Turk Telekom will play against the league's leader Lokomotiv and hope to secure a win.
