There was an upset when higher ranked Spanish Valencia (4-3) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (3-5) 97-85 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 54-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Cedevita Ol. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia's 16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Jaka Blazic (196-90) who scored 24 points and 5 assists. American point guard Yogi Ferrell (183-93, college: Indiana) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Five Cedevita Ol. players scored in double figures. Xabier Lopez-Arostegui (200-97) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and Belgian point guard Sam Van-Rossom (188-86) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Valencia's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Slovenian champion maintains eighth position in Group B with 3-5 record. Valencia at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Cedevita Ol. will meet at home bottom-ranked Promitheas (#9) in the next round. Valencia will play against Bursaspor (#7) and hope to secure a win.
