Regular Season Round 8: Slask - Joventut 73-87

Not a big story in a game in Wroclaw where 10th ranked Polish WKS Slask (1-7) was defeated by second ranked Spanish Joventut (6-2) 87-73 on Wednesday. WKS Slask was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-9 charge of Joventut, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to WKS Slask's 24. They outrebounded WKS Slask 43-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Slovakian forward Vladimir Brodziansky (210-94, college: TCU, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Swedish center Simon Birgander (209-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Swingman Jakub Karolak (196-93, agency: Alti Sport) produced 27 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Travis Trice II (183-93, college: Michigan St.) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Joventut keeps a position of Group A leader, which they share with Lokomotiv. WKS Slask at the other side keeps the tenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Trento. Joventut will meet at home league's leader Lokomotiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. WKS Slask will play against Andorra (#4) and hope to win that game.
