Regular Season Round 9: Hamburg - Turk Telekom 94-74

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (5-4) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked German Hamburg Towers (4-5) 94-74 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamburg Towers. Turk Telekom managed to win fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamburg Towers looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American swingman Caleb Homesley (198-96, college: Liberty) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Ray McCallum (190-91, college: Detroit) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Four Hamburg Towers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Kazakhstan point guard Anthony Clemmons (187-94, college: Iowa, agency: Inception Sports) with 14 points, 8 assists and 5 steals and American swingman Aubrey Dawkins (198-95, college: UCF, agency: Network Sports International) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamburg Towers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Hamburg Towers will meet league's leader Partizan NiS in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turk Telekom will play against Metropolitans (#6) in Levallois and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
