Regular Season Round 10: Promitheas - Valencia 68-71

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Greek Promitheas (2-7) were edged by third ranked Spanish Valencia (7-3) in Patras 71-68 on Wednesday. Promitheas were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 19-11 charge of Valencia, which allowed them to win the game. American-Slovenian center Mike Tobey (213-94, college: Virginia) notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Josep Puerto (199-99) supported him with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Even 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Dimitris Agravanis (208-94, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Promitheas. American guard Kendrick Ray (188-94, college: KSU) added 15 points and 5 assists for lost side. Valencia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group B with 7-3 record behind leader Partizan NiS. Promitheas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with seven games lost. Valencia will meet at home league's second-placed Buducnost in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promitheas will play against the league's leader Gran Canaria (#1) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
