Regular Season Round 10: Cedevita Ol. - Gran Canaria 60-75

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (7-2) defeated 7th ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (3-6) in Ljubljana 75-60 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. Cedevita Ol. managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cedevita Ol. to just 7 points in first quarter. Gran Canaria looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Miquel Salvo (205-94) notched 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Canadian-Jamaican guard Dylan Ennis (188-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Even 10 points and 6 rebounds by Jaka Blazic (196-90) did not help to save the game for Cedevita Ol.. Center Alen Omic (216-92, agency: BeoBasket) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gran Canaria have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader. Defending Slovenian champion Cedevita Ol. keeps the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Bursaspor. Gran Canaria will meet at home Promitheas (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cedevita Ol. will play against JL Bourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
