We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Italian Virtus BO (6-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked German ratiopharm Ulm (6-5) 84-68 on Tuesday. The game without a history. ratiopharm Ulm led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. ratiopharm Ulm outrebounded Virtus BO 47-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Jaron Blossomgame (199-93, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Semaj Christon (190-92, college: Xavier) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Marco Belinelli (196-86) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. ratiopharm Ulm maintains fifth place in Group B with 6-5 record. Defending Italian champion Virtus BO keeps the fourth position with four games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will meet Venezia (#6) on the road in the next round.
