Regular Season Round 14: Levallois - Hamburg 85-62

Rather predictable result in Levallois where fourth ranked French Metropolitans (9-5) smashed 8th ranked German Hamburg Towers (5-8) 85-62 on Wednesday. Metropolitans forced 20 Hamburg Towers turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Metropolitans made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Will Cummings (188-1992, college: Temple) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Israeli Tomer Ginat (202-1994, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Metropolitans players scored in double figures. Lukas Meisner (203-1995, college: Columbia) produced 17 points and American Seth Hinrichs (200-1993, college: Lafayette) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Metropolitans have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Partizan NiS. Loser Hamburg Towers keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Metropolitans will meet league's second-placed Partizan NiS in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamburg Towers will play against WKS Slask (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
