Regular Season Round 15: Bursaspor - Bourg 96-89
Date: March 15, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Turkish Bursaspor (5-9) won against at home bottom-ranked French JL Bourg (5-10) 96-89 on Tuesday. Bursaspor made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Bursaspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American Andrew Andrews (188-1993, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 assists. American-Puerto Rican guard John Holland (196-1988, college: Boston U.) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American guard Rasheed Sulaimon (193-1994, college: Maryland) with 14 points and 9 assists and power forward Pierre Pelos (205-1992) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bursaspor moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Loser JL Bourg dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Bursaspor will meet at home league's second-placed Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JL Bourg will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
