Regular Season Round 15: Valencia - Venezia 86-80

Very expected game when 6th ranked Italian Venezia (7-7) was defeated on the road by second ranked Spanish Valencia (11-4) 86-80 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for Montenegrin center Bojan Dubljevic (205-1991, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Slovenian Klemen Prepelic (191-1992) helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was American-North Macedonian point guard Jordan Theodore (182-1989, college: Seton Hall, agency: Network Sports International) with 25 points and American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Valencia and four Venezia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia maintains second place in Group B with 11-4 record behind leader Joventut. Loser Venezia keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Valencia will meet Bursaspor (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Venezia will play against Cedevita Ol. in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
