Regular Season Round 16: Gran Canaria - Buducnost 84-64
Date: March 23, 2022
An interesting game for Spanish Gran Canaria (12-4) which hosted in Las Palmas 3rd ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (9-7). First ranked Gran Canaria had an easy win 84-64. Gran Canaria looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Canadian-Jamaican guard Dylan Ennis (188-1991, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 14 points and Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) supported him with 13 points. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Gran Canaria's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points by American DJ Seeley (193-1989, college: CS Fullerton) did not help to save the game for Buducnost. His fellow American import guard Justin Cobbs (191-1991, college: California, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points for lost side. Gran Canaria have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-4 record, which they share with Joventut. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Gran Canaria will meet Virtus BO (#5) in the next round. Buducnost will play against JL Bourg and hope to secure a win.
