Regular Season Round 16: Levallois - Joventut 86-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Spanish Joventut (12-4) in Levallois on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked French Metropolitans (10-6) 86-78. Metropolitans looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jordan McRae (197-1991, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists. Israeli Tomer Ginat (202-1994, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swedish center Simon Birgander (209-1997) replied with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American Derek Willis (206-1995, college: Kentucky) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Joventut. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Metropolitans maintains third position with 10-6 record having just two points less than leader Gran Canaria. Joventut at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria. Metropolitans are looking forward to face Andorra (#4) on the road in the next round. Joventut will play against WKS Slask and is hoping to win this game.
