Regular Season Round 2: Promitheas - Gran Canaria 93-82

The most important game of round 2 took place in Patras of Group B where Greek Promitheas beat Spanish Gran Canaria 93-82 on Wednesday night. Promitheas made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Gran Canaria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Joseph Young (188-1992, college: Oregon, agency: MSG) scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian Arnoldas Kulboka (208-1998) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) responded with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Brazilian Vitor Benite (194-1990, agency: Pro Sports) scored 11 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria will play next round against Lions trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Promitheas will try to continue on its current victory against Buducnost in Podgorica.
