Regular Season Round 3: Ulm - Brescia 90-98

An interesting game where Italian Brescia (#3) beat host German ratiopharm Ulm (#5) 98-90 on Wednesday evening. Brescia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ratiopharm Ulm's 34 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded ratiopharm Ulm 48-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. Brescia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Troy Caupain (193-1995, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import guard CJ Massinburg (190-1997, college: Buffalo) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American Matt Mobley (192-1994, college: St.Bonaventure) with 23 points and Brazilian point guard Yago Matheus (175-1999) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Five Brescia and four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brescia will meet at home JL Bourg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Bursaspor (#4) and hope to win that game.
