Everything went according to plan when British London L. (2-1) beat on the road Italian Sassari (0-3) 73-63 on Wednesday. London L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Anguillan-British forward Mikiah Herbert-Harrigan (188-1998, college: S.Carolina) who scored 29 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Holly Winterburn (178-2000, college: UC Davis) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Joyner Holmes (191-1998, college: Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and Swedish forward Elin Gustavsson (190-1993, college: Colorado St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. London L. will meet at home Villeneuve in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sassari will play against Roche and hopes to get finally their first victory.
