There was no surprise in Ankara where 5th ranked British Lions (4-4) were outplayed by third ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (6-2) 102-74 on Wednesday. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Lions' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Jerian Grant (196-1992, college: Notre Dame) who scored 18 points and 9 assists. Erkan Yilmaz (192-1997) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. American forward Sam Dekker (204-1994, college: Wisconsin) produced 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Greek-American center Kostas Koufos (213-1989, college: Ohio St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turk Telekom keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Bourg and Gran Canaria. Loser Lions keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Turk Telekom will meet Buducnost (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lions will play against Paris and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
